NEWS: The Toronto Blue Jays placed C Alejandro Kirk on the 10-day IL with a fractured thumb; C Brandon Valenzuela has been recalled from AAA-Buffalo in a corresponding move.

BHQ SPIN: The thumb injury is a tough break for Kirk, who was riding a wave of optimism after a strong 2025 season. Kirk improved his hard contact which pushed xPX (113) to new heights. The unfortunate setback provides an opportunity for Valenzuela. His strength is more defensive in nature, but he has exhibited modest power (4 HR in 122 PA at AAA-Buffalo) since being acquired by Toronto in 2025.
