Mariners option Urias to minors, Moore stands as a beneficiary

NEWS: Seattle optioned 3B Luis Urías to AAA-Tacoma and in a corresponding move recalled OF Jonatan Clase from AAA-Tacoma.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: Just as in 2023, Urias hasn’t been able to recapture his 2021-2022 skills or output. His .152 BA and 3 HRs over his 79 ABs show his struggles. Historically a better hitter against left-handed pitching and in a platoon with Josh Rojas to start the season at third base, Urias has only hit .139 against LH pitching in 2024. A 10% hit rate is holding down his numbers against LH pitching though. 

With Urias no longer on the active roster, it looks like Dylan Moore will be seeing some additional playing time and will take over the short side of the platoon at 3B....
