Mets option Senga; summon Sproat

NEWS: The Mets optioned Kodai Senga to Triple-A Syracuse and are expected to call-up Brandon Sproat to start Sunday’s game in Cincinnati. New York activated catcher Francisco Alvarez from the 10-day IL, called up reliever Wander Suero, and optioned catcher Hayden Senger to Syracuse.

BHQ SPIN: Senga has struggled since returning from the IL on July 11th after suffering a hamstring strain a month earlier. Over that span, he has a 4.84 xERA (5.90 ERA). While he has struck out 39 in 39.2 innings, he’s also walked 25 batters.
