NEWS: Miami traded Jon Berti to the Yankees and acquired two outfield prospects. Separately Miami announced that Max Meyer had made the team after all and would be part of the team’s Opening Day rotation.

BHQ SPIN: Berti’s departure opens up playing time all around the diamond. Before the trade, we had expected Berti to play a little more than half the time. We won’t know for sure how his projected playing time will be divided up until the dust settles, but the Marlins have a few players like Berti who can play all around the diamond.
