NEWS: Chicago acquired 3B Isaac Paredes from Tampa Bay in exchange for 3B Christopher Morel, RHP Hunter Bigge, and RHP Ty Johnson.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Chicago traded away Morel, who had been in a regular role splitting time between third base and designated hitter, as well as two prospects, Bigge and Johnson, in exchange for Paredes. The expectation is that Paredes will fill a regular role similar to Morel’s. However, given the fact that he is a superior defender to Morel, Chicago is more likely to slot Paredes in at third base regularly, opening up the designated hitter spot on most days.
