Touting a 96 mph four-seam fastball supported by sweepers, changeups, and cutters, he’s displayed the ability to strike out batters (31.3% K%) while improving his control to limit the free passes that plagued him last year (-4.9% to a 6.3% BB%). With multi-inning saves in back-to-back appearances, Perkins has thrown his name into the closer ring.
