In a not-unexpected move, the Red Sox announced that Carl Crawford (OF, BOS) will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow later this week.  Despite fighting through wrist and groin injuries en route to begin his comeback from the DL in mid-July, the 32-year-old Crawford's overall numbers—126 PX, .299 xBA, 81% ct%, 5 SB—look decent over a 117 AB sample.  That the injury is to his throwing arm leaves Crawford's readiness for April 2013 iffy, and his historical trends suggest that he may be past his prime as a base-stealing threat.  But if you can deal with the durability risk, Fenway's friendly hitter environment and what remains of Crawford's skills make him...
