Freese sidelined with ankle injury

David Freese (3B, STL) rolled his ankle just prior to the September 24 game, and was replaced by Matt Carpenter (1B, STL), who got the start the following night as well.  Freese has had issues with the ankle before, and with an off day coming up, he is reportedly likely to sit in the series finale in Houston. 

Carpenter has been productive filling in everywhere when a starter has gone down, and will probably be the primary beneficiary while Freese is out.  In 276 at-bats, he has hit .304, with six home runs and a 122 PX.  Carpenter's 37% hit rate and 79% contact rate suggest he probably won't maintain a .300 batting average long-term, but he should provide value when getting...
