| The San Francisco Giants made an organizational decision before spring training to have 1B Brandon Belt concentrate only on first base and not the outfield. However, C Buster Posey (legs) has needed to play first base rather than squatting behind the dish at catcher, forcing Belt and his bat out of the lineup.
