Holland to DL, Ogando to start

The Rangers on Thursday placed Derek Holland (LHP, TEX) on the 15-day DL with what was officially described as "shoulder fatigue." Holland has been fighting a stomach virus for several weeks, and one complication has been that he tires easily. Holland has been roughed up in his last two starts (a combined 11 ER in 7 IP) but pronounced himself over the hump after eeking out a win on June 5. The team, on the other hand, felt this was a good time to shut Holland down and let him regain his strength.

Overall, Holland's start to 2012 looks worse than it is—a 65% S% has helped widen the gap between his 5.10 ERA and 4.00 xERA. His BPI are almost identical to 2011 (Cmd around 2.5; a BPV of 72...
