Jay, Carpenter return for STL

Jon Jay (OF, STL) and Matt Carpenter (1B/OF, STL) returned to the lineup June 22. STL optioned replacements Matt Adams (1B, STL) and Adron Chambers (OF, STL) to Triple-A.  Jay missed six weeks with a right shoulder injury, while an oblique strain sidelined Carpenter for a month. Jay returns as the regular CF, while Carpenter started at 1B Friday.  LHB Carpenter is likely to start vs. RHP as STL concludes interleague play, then resume his utility role in NL action.

Skip Schumaker (2B/OF, STL) likely will return to a 2B platoon with Tyler Greene (2B/SS, STL) after making three straight CF starts since STL activated him from the DL June 19.  Shane Robinson (OF, STL) and Daniel Descalso...
