Diamondbacks | Brandon McCarthy activated from disabled list
The Arizona Diamondbacks have activated SP Brandon McCarthy (head) from the 15-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, RP Tony Sipp was designated for assignment.  Source: The Associated Press
 
BHQ take: McCarthy threw 97 pitches in 4.1 IP in his first major-league start in over two months, allowing eight baserunners and two earned runs. Even so, the Diamondbacks have to consider his outing a success. The impact of three DL stints in two years for the same shoulder may afford McCarthy less margin for error...
