The Braves placed Andrelton Simmons (SS, ATL) on the 15-day DL Monday with a broken right pinkie finger that is expected to keep his hand in a cast for four weeks. Beyond this timeframe, we have no expected return-date for Simmons, who doesn't appear to be in any danger of losing his starting job during this absence. The 22-year-old has played good defense and been able to parlay an 88% ct% into a surprisingly good .296/.341/.452 slash line, despite showing only average power and speed metrics and owning just 171 AB above the A+ level. Simmons' BA is supported by a .285 xBA.
