PT TODAY: Andrus signs with White Sox

AMERICAN LEAGUE  |  Jump to NL

White Sox
NEWS: INF Elvis Andrus
signed a one-year deal with Chicago.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: Andrus found the fountain of youth after signing with Chicago as a FA in August 2022. In 49 games, he slashed .271/.309/.464 with nine HR. While the 34-year-old played SS in 2022, with Tim Anderson healthy, Andrus becomes Chicago’s starting 2B, supplanting Ronny Gonzalez and Leury García. Andrus finished 2022 with 17 HR and 18 SB (he was 11-for-11 with the Chisox), numbers he hadn’t reached since 2017. Andrus credits his 2022 resurgence to finally having a healthy elbow. He’ll get the opportunity to prove that the end of 2022 was no fluke.
