Boston Red Sox LHP Chris Sale (elbow) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his elbow Monday, Aug. 19, and will be reevaluated by Dr. James Andrews in six weeks.   Source: MLB.com
 
BHQ take: Note that there are not six weeks left in the regular season, so Sale's 2019 playing time now goes to zero. Those in keeper leagues will be pleased to know that Dr. Andrews did not find any ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) damage, only inflammation, suggesting that Sale will avoid Tommy John surgery and be ready to go for spring training 2020.
