St. Louis Cardinals RHP Carlos Martínez (lat) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday, May 10, because of a right lat strain. The team also recalled RHP Mike Mayers from Class AAA Memphis.  Source: MLBRosterMoves
 
BHQ take: There were few indications that Martinez was having health issues. He got knocked around a bit on Opening Day, but followed that with six quality starts entering play on May 8. That day, he struggled a bit, walking three and only striking out two over five innings. Perhaps more significantly, he was only hitting 91 on the radar gun...
