NEWS: Lefties Will Smith and Aroldis Chapman will “co-close” for the Rangers.

BHQ SPIN: Chapman earned his first save as a Ranger on Saturday, 7/15 after Smith had set him up by pitching the 7th and 8th. In the post-game interview, Mgr Bruce Bochy suggested that the two will share the 9th inning for the time being, depending on matchups. Case in point: The night before, Chapman pitched the 8th and Smith was warming to pitch the 9th before the Rangers broke the game open. That meant that on Saturday, Smith hadn’t pitched in a week and was able to give TEX two innings—once again, playing into the matchup scenario.
