NEWS: New York Yankees LHP Nestor Cortes was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, Aug. 11, because of a strained rotator cuff.

At this point, the Yankees’ version of the saying ““Spahn and Sain and Pray for Rain” might go something like “Schmidt and Cole and Crawl in a Hole,” or perhaps, “Cole and Schmidt Then it All Goes to…” At any rate, Brito and Vásquez are likely to need to take regular turns until LHP Carlos Rodón (hamstring) comes back, though reports have suggested that Rodón might return when first eligible on August 22.
