Mets | Jacob deGrom to be shut down
New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom will be shut down before his final start of the season, according to an organizational source. General manager Sandy Alderson is expected to announce the decision Tuesday, Sept. 23, according to the source. deGrom has pitched 140 1/3 innings in the majors and 178 2/3 innings overall from his time with Triple-A Las Vegas. That's 31 more innings than he threw in 2013. His 2.63 ERA is the fourth best in team history for rookie pitchers with at least 140 innings.
