Indians | Edwin Encarnación lands with Tribe
Free-agent 1B Edwin Encarnación (Blue Jays) agreed to a three-year, $60 million deal with the Cleveland Indians Thursday, Dec. 22. The deal includes a vesting option for a fourth year, which could make the total value worth $80 million.  Source: MLB Network - Jon Heyman
 
BHQ take: Encarnacion's signing signals that free agent 1B/DH Mike Napoli will not be returning to CLE. Encarnacion will split 1B and DH with Carlos Santana, whose club option was exercised, though it is not yet clear which of Encarnacion or Santana might get the bulk of PT at either position....
