Oakland Athletics SS Jed Lowrie (foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, Aug. 5, because of a foot ailment.  Source: MLB.com
 
BHQ take: Lowrie has a very painful bunion on his foot, and if rest and a new orthotic don't help, he may face season-ending surgery. For now, we'll conservatively assume Lowrie will be back, but keep in mind there's a significant chance he'll miss the rest of 2016. Recently recalled Tyler Ladendorf figures to get some starts at 2B as well as Max Muncy. Other than Muncy's solid walk rate (15% bb%) and an intriguing HctX of 160 in 47 AB...
