San Francisco Giants RP Mark Melancon (elbow) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, May 17. The team also optioned 2B Kelby Tomlinson to Class AAA Sacramento.  Source: MLB.com

Fill-in closer Derek Law encountered some turbulence in his first opportunity, giving up three hits and two earned runs but still earning a save, and then earned two more unscathed.
