Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, July 9, because of a hamstring strain. The team also recalled INF Giovanny Urshela from Class AAA Columbus.  Source: MLB.com
 
BHQ take: Utility infielder Erik González started CLE's July 9 game at 2B, and is likely to be the primary replacement in Kipnis' absence. He has swung a hot bat in limited action, going 15-for-49 with two HR since his mid-May call-up from Triple-A, though he has yet to show patience or contact skill.
