NEWS: San Francisco placed right-handed starter Alex Cobb on the 15-day IL with a left hip impingement and right-handed pitcher Keaton Winn on the COVID-related IL.

BHQ SPIN: One of the few pitchers on the team that has been used as a traditional starter all year, Cobb has suffered an injury that will end his season. The team recalled left-handed starter Kyle Harrison to replace Cobb in the rotation, and even if he does make a start or two to wrap up the year, his workload will be limited. Winn has been used as a swingman, starting games every once in a while and also being deployed as a bulk reliever.
