PT TODAY: Jiménez injury means more time for Sheets, Burger

NEWS: Chicago placed OF/DH Eloy Jiménez on the 10-day IL and recalled INF Jake Burger.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: Jiménez missed about two months in 2022 with a hamstring injury, but the team is downplaying this bad hammy, calling it “low grade.” For now, since he is expected to miss at least two weeks, we’ll adjust his PT slightly (-10%). The Sox will likely go with a Gavin Sheets/Burger split at DH while Jiménez is out. This spring, Burger smacked 4 HR in 51 AB but struck out 17 times and walked only twice, which is about what you can expect from him. He should see time against lefties. We’ll bump Burger and Sheets 5% in PT. Sheets offers pop but low BA against righties.
