Padres | Carlos Quentin placed on disabled list
Confirming a previous report, the San Diego Padres announced OF Carlos Quentin (knee) will begin the regular season on the disabled list because of a left knee injury. This marks Quentin's seventh trip to the DL in his career.  Source: CBSSports.com - Matt Snyder
 
BHQ take: We'd already built significant DL time into the injury-prone Quentin's season, but we'll add a touch more as he starts the season there. The big winner here is 1B Tommy Medica, who is being pushed into the OF by SD in an effort to find a place for his bat....
