| BHQ take: In a Sunday, July 19, mlb.com article, manager Robin Ventura said they made the move for pitching and cited Gillaspie's slow start and Tyler Saladino's current play. Gillaspie did begin 2015 with a .196 BA/.251 xBA in April but surged to a .305/.284 for the month of May. It's been all downhill since with a .206 BA, one HR and no SB on a 23% h% and 83% ct% in 63 AB since June 1. In very early returns, Saladino hasn't been overmatched with four Ks in 26 ABs but... |
