BHQ take: Assuming Samardzija is activated, he will have missed 35 games, equivalent to seven starts, and he returns to a 1-4 record, 6.56 ERA, and 1.68 WHIP over 36 IP. Those are not Samardzija-like numbers, nor are the two DL stints for someone who has averaged 212 innings pitched over the past five seasons. His shoulder and pectoral issues have impeded him since spring training, so...
