Mets

NEWS: New York signed righthander Kodai Senga to a 5-year, $75 million contract.

IMPACT: High

BHQ SPIN: Senga was among the top international free agents coming to the majors this year. Senga heads stateside after 11 outstanding seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball. In 2022, Senga had one of his best seasons, compiling a 2.41 ERA and a 2.98 xERA. He’s expected to pitch in the middle of the Mets rotation. His skills indicate that he should be able to make the transition from Japan to the United States. However, until he shows that he can make the transition, fantasy managers should exercise a bit of caution.
