NEWS: Chicago placed 3B Jake Burger on the IL and recalled INF Lenyn Sosa.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: Burger had seen time at 3B filling in for the injured Yoán Moncada. Burger has smacked a team-high 7 HR in that span but has been a BA drag (.224). We’ll refrain from PT changes for now, as Sosa and Hanser Alberto will split time at 3B until Moncada, who is on the verge of starting a rehab assignment, returns to the team. Sosa, who was ticketed to the minors earlier this week, slashed .151/.167/.245 in 54 PA. The 30-year-old Alberto has a .190/.190/.333 slash line in 22 PA. Neither one are high-priority free agent pickups.
