Rodriguez likely to fill in for Fried

NEWS: Yankees LHP Max Fried has been placed on the 15-day injured list after imaging revealed a bone bruise in his left elbow.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: While there was no immediate timetable given for Fried’s return, he will likely be out for several weeks at a minimum, as follow-up imaging will not happen for another few weeks. Fried and the team have also indicated they will take the long view of the injury, allowing Fried to rehab the injury in a way that minimizes the chance for a recurrence, including potentially having Fried make some mechanical changes. Manager Aaron Boone did not immediately announce a replacement for Fried in the rotation, but team watchers believe the leading candidate is RHP
