Rooker reclaims DH role for Athletics

NEWS: The A’s activated OF Brent Rooker from the 10-day IL and designated IF Andy Ibáñez for assignment.

BHQ SPIN: Rooker missed 2.5 weeks with an oblique strain and will return to being the A’s everyday DH. Carlos Cortes had been the DH previously, and thanks to his 189 wRC+, will still find his way into the lineup. He’ll shift to right field, with Lawrence Butler heading to center field, forcing Zack Gelof to the bench. Gelof will find his way into the lineup on the short side of a center field platoon while Colby Thomas platoons with Cortes in right.
