NEWS: An MRI found that Spencer Strider has damage to his UCL.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Updating yesterday’s Playing Time Today note on Strider, the news is not good. While surgery is not confirmed at this time, he will at a minimum miss significant time. For now, we’ve dropped his projected playing time to 5%, and that may be optimistic. Candidates to replace Strider in the Atlanta rotation include Bryce Elder, Dylan Dodd, Darius Vines, AJ Smith-Shawver, and Hurston Waldrep. Each has received a small bump in their innings projection while we see how the dust settles.
