NEWS: Minnesota called up OF prospect Walker Jenkins, and optioned OF Alan Roden to Triple-A.

BHQ SPIN: The second most notable thing here (the first being Jenkins is a Top 10 prospect who has raked in the minors for most of the last month) is that the corresponding move was not to place Byron Buxton on the IL, but to keep him active and demote Roden. So for now, the team feels Buxton is good enough to contribute as they chase the AL Wild Card. Jenkins’ pedigree and what to expect was outlined in Callups on Friday.
