It appears as though Evan Gattis (C/OF/1B, ATL) will be the main beneficiary while B.J. Upton (OF, ATL) is on the disabled list with a strained adductor muscle. The team has decided to shift Jason Heyward (OF, ATL) to center field to increase the number of options at their disposal and make room for Gattis to play left field—the only outfield position he has played as a professional.

Jose Constanza (OF, ATL), Reed Johnson (OF, ATL) and Joey Terdoslavich (OF/1B, ATL) are the other players currently on the roster capable of playing the outfield. But as long as Heyward doesn’t have any issues with the right hamstring injury from July 11 that sidelined him for six games, Gattis figures to be the primary left fielder until...
