DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West- Amarista getting chance in San Diego

The playing time of Alexi Amarista (2B, SD) tapered off for awhile, as he started just three games in an 18-game span. However, since then it has picked up dramatically, as he has started six of the team's last eight, and has been hitting well. Three of the starts did come during a five-game trip to American League parks, when the Padres had the benefit of using the designated hitter. Still, while he's hitting, the Padres will probably find ways to get Amarista in the lineup, a task that is made easier by his versatility.
