PT TOMORROW: AL East—TOR taking Travis to the top

Toronto Blue Jays

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has hinted broadly that as soon as Devon Travis (2B, TOR) is ready, he will ascend to the top of the Blue Jays’ order. Travis, of course, is just working his way back after shoulder surgery last September.

Travis has, however, had reached base in all nine games he has played since returning to action May 25, and his first home run June 3 suggests that perhaps he is indeed rounding into form.

Given his penchant for taking walks, José Bautista (OF, TOR) hasn’t necessarily been the worst table setter, but the team would clearly prefer Bautista be in position to drive in runs.

Michael Saunders (OF, TOR) also has done a credible job hitting first (.265/.367/.471 in 18 games leading off), but...
