Apart from their two top position players now sharing the catcher/DH spots (profiled here last week), the A's fielded a Tuesday, August 23 lineup in which long-time bench bat Chad Pinder (.236 BA through 303) was the only other hitter with a BA over .230. 1B/OF Seth Brown (.718 OPS through 406 PA) was the only hitter in the lineup with an OPS above .700.

Seemingly about to return from the IL (Grade 1 oblique strain) soon, outfielder Ramón Laureano has at least shown more ability than his current .223/.300/.395 line suggests, and he leads the club with 12 SBs, third with 10 HR despite being suspended for the season's first month.
