The Reds consistent rotation shuffles have been a theme throughout their season, as they have started 15 different pitchers, tops in the NL. Their starters have a 5.68 ERA, worst in MLB. During this rebuilding year, some promising pieces have emerged, but most of the club’s young starters have either been injured or performed poorly.

Luis Castillo (RHP, CIN), who has been shut down after tossing a career-high 169.1 IP, made the jump straight from Double-A and had a 3.12 ERA and 1.07 WHIP that are mostly supported by his strong skills indicators (128 BPV, 3.27 xERA, and 3.1 Cmd). He could lead the Reds rotation when the club emerges from its rebuild.
