It appears that the Dodgers avoided a disastrous outcome with Mookie Betts (OF, LA). According to manager Dave Roberts, Betts could return as soon as the first week of July (per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register), though the timeline was left open in case Betts continues to feel ongoing discomfort or would be at risk for suffering re-injury. Regardless of Betts’ status, the team is in need of depth bats, particularly with Edwin Ríos (1B/3B, LA) sidelined for the foreseeable future.
