GM's OFFICE: The Iowa Caucuses

Earlier this week, I attended the Fantasy Sports Trade Association’s winter conference in Dallas, TX. The conference traditionally hosts the first Experts’ Draft of the season. This draft is sort of the Iowa Caucus of the pre-season industry draft calendar: perhaps in the grand scheme of things it isn’t as meaningful as more prominent events like LABR or Tout Wars. But its placement on the calendar ensures that it gets a good bit of attention in its own right.

This is my first year in this league; for that matter it's my first time attending this conference. Ron Shandler has been our long-time representative in this event; he and my co-GM Brent Hershey have drafted a team here for the past few years. But this being the first draft season...
