Introduction and Method

Growing MLB players is a tough racket, and predicting that growth is even tougher.

With the major-league draft and subsequent expert analysis safely behind us, we now expect a wait of three or four years to find out which drafted players develop into major-leaguers or even all-stars.

But between now and three or four years from now, many fantasy owners will be drafting these young players in ultra, deep-reserve and dynasty formats. We thought we might be able to give owners an edge in making their farm picks from this year’s draft crop by looking at a possibly under-examined variable: the general managers.
