Introduction
SBs are a very challenging category to manage, because a smaller number of players contribute a larger percentage of SB than in other hitting counting stats.
Here’s a chart comparing the number of players contributing 10% and 25% of homers and SB from 2011-2013:

SB 22 23 18 61 63 52The actual numbers, and the possibility that SBs are getting even more concentrated, are interesting in and of themselves. But for now, let’s focus on noting the top SB contributors have a greater effect on the SB category than the top power hitters do on HR.
