SPECULATOR: NL teams change directions, offer opportunities

The term "September call-ups" is a bit of a misnomer. While September's expanded rosters provide ample opportunities for call-ups, non-contending teams don't necessarily wait until September to create big-league opportunities for their prospects. Now that we are a couple of weeks clear of the trade deadline, the 2014 fates of several teams are sealed, and the way they handle some of their prospects right now can give us clues about their 2015 plans. Let's take a look at some situations worth monitoring over the next few weeks:
