SPECULATOR: Trade deadline, part 1: The pitching market

With the non-waiver trade deadline looming at the end of the month, it's high time we turned our attention to some trade speculation. Ricky Nolasco, Scott Feldman and Matt Thornton have already been dealt. Who's next? Let's tour the marketplace.

The overall problem is a logical conundrum: Most of the teams that are sellers this month find themselves in that situation precisely because they lack pitching. Add in that some of the non-contenders are in such deep rebuilds that whatever pitching they have is still young and cost-controlled (and thus worth keeping), and the pitching market is as tight as ever. Still, there are a few chips reportedly being dangled, ranked from most likely to move to least likely.
