MINORS: The downside of rushing position prospects

Is ________ ready for to contribute? I'm asked this question almost daily. Whether injuries have devastated a lineup (Mets) or the product on the field is hard to stomach (Braves), fans and fantasy owners are always looking for a jolt of electricity to revive their franchise.

Truthfully, most hitting prospects aren't ready for the big leagues. Fundamentally, most aren't ready to transition to a major league batter's box yet. Some were never even given the chance to develop early in their careers. Why? Organizations saw something they craved and wanted to push it.
