MINORS: The Eyes have it - Elly De La Cruz

Excitement. If one word encapsulated Reds SS prospect Elly De La Cruz, excitement would top the list. The switch-hitting 20-year-old has been a breath of fresh air to the Southern League since his promotion to Double-A on 7/22/22. This season has been lackluster for the in-person live look game for me in Double-A. I went big on my early season look at Matt McLain (SS, CIN). I wish I could take that 9 rating back, especially after watching his struggles with contact over the last 3 months play out whenever I’m at the ballpark in Chattanooga. I also saw Michael Harris (OF, ATL) early on, prior to his promotion to the big leagues. While he was exciting, I already had 25+ looks at him the last few seasons. For me, he was a 9 rated prospect...
