MINORS: News and notes

 

With the 2012 minor league season in full swing, we take our first tour around the minors to see who's hot, who's not, who's hurt, and who's ready to break out. This early in the year, it is important to keep in mind that (just like in the majors) sample sizes are still very small.  Most starting pitchers have had only four starts and most hitters have fewer than 80 AB, so it is just too soon to make any long-term conclusion or roster moves based on this limited data.

Triple-A Update:

Adam Eaton (OF, ARI) might be the best 5’8” player in the minors.  Eaton started the year at Double-A, but was moved up to Triple-A when A.J. Pollock was called up to the majors.  Eaton is hitting .393 since being promoted and for his minor...
