MINORS: News and Notes

With the 2012 trade deadline less a week away, we take another tour around the minors to see who is hot and who is not.  It is unlikely many of the top prospects in the game will be changing organizations, but certainly some will as teams like the Rangers, Yankees, Pirates, Reds, Braves and others make a push to upgrade for the stretch run.  Watch our newly-added Traded Prospects column for the low-down on prospects on the move.

Triple-A Update:
The Chicago Cubs Josh Vitters (3B) should be next to be called up to the majors.  The 3rd overall pick in 2007 draft has been a disappointment as a pro, but is finally having a solid breakout, hitting .303/.354/.515 with 31 doubles and 15 home runs in 379 AB.  Vitters still doesn’t walk...
