After consecutive seasons of 200-plus innings, Sandy Alcantara seemed due for regression. However, we questioned just how much regression, given his durability and improved strikeout skills from the past. Alcantara's 4.07 xERA hints at better ratios, with an actual ERA of 4.75 and a brutal strand rate of 59%. That luck factor alone should help the results.

From a swing-and-miss standpoint, Alcantara's K-BB% fell closer to his career average of 13% after consecutive seasons with a K-BB% of 18%. Interestingly, Alcantara's SwK increased closer to 2021 (13.9%), with a 13.4% SwK in 2023. With the SwK similar to 2021, it seems likely that Alcantara's overall K% will rise moving forward.
